CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR / OBSERVER

What does it take to join the RVE family? Service, performance, innovation, and planning excellence.

Remington & Vernick Engineers believes in providing opportunities for its employees to advance within our organization. Opportunities at RVE will be limited only by the individual’s ambition, attitude and qualifications in experience, education and capabilities.

As an onsite observer, the candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the construction inspection team and verifying the project is being constructed in conformance with the plans and specifications. The inspector serves as the liaison between the design team and the contractor, ensuring quality construction is being performed, questions and technical inquiries (RFIs) are being answered in a timely manner, and the contractor’s means and methods meet industry standards. The Inspector will be required to interact with the client and/or design engineer onsite on occasion to review field conditions and offer solutions on how to proceed on the project at minimal impact to the project schedule and cost. The Inspector will also review the inspector’s reports and perform quality control checks on the as-built measurements. These checks verify accurate mathematical computations, engineered estimated quantities, and financial progress of the project.

Potential candidates should be New Jersey/Pennsylvania Certified Inspectors, with good organizational & communication skills, and an understanding of general construction practices. The candidate should be prepared to travel to the project site / field office daily, and to potentially work on high speed roadways in New Jersey and/or Pennsylvania and/or sizable bi-state bridges. The salary offered for the new position will be determined based on the industry and incentivized with the attainment of additional certification(s).
